TunisUSA is an outgrowth of the many years founder Jerry Sorkin has spent traveling throughout Asia, the Middle East and Northern Africa, searching for the finest rugs, furniture and accessories for his retail store, JM Sorkin Distinctive Rugs & More, in Wayne, PA.

Jerry spearheaded the company's development as a pioneer in developing cultural/historical tours to Tunisia. His experience in both Tunisia and Turkey dates back over a decade and a half, with his frequent visits underscored by an educational background specializing in modern Middle East studies. Mr. Sorkin is also a noted authority on the cultural/historical aspects of oriental rugs. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Sorkin, manages the company's operations in the United States, assisting clients in their travel arrangements. Both he and staff are available to answer client's questions about the country, climate, traveling conditions as well as sites of interest. In Tunisia, TunisUSA's operations are overseen by the company's Tunisian colleages.

Kubilay Tuncer, TunisUSA's Turkish director, has years of experience both leading and developing educational tours in Turkey. A graduate of the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Mr. Tuncer has in-depth knowledge of Turkey's history, archaeology and folk life and subsequently, holds TunisUSA guides to the highest of standards. In addition to his professional involvement with TunisUSA, Mr. Tuncer is a man of many talents. A noted writer, whose plays are often presented in Istanbul and Ankara theaters, Mr. Tuncer is also an illusionist, appearing frequently in his original shows in front of live audiences and on Turkish television.
